As the utility industry continues to rapidly adopt new technology, our client must ensure that its products and services continue to evolve in order to stay ahead of the curve. This has led to a number of new or significantly more technical and/or complex products and services. The IT group requires the skill set of a Network Administrator who will be required to work within an established team to provide a high level of service to existing and new IT office/data center infrastructure, users and customers. This candidate will be responsible to assist in configuration and maintenance of all the clients core network and server equipment. Candidates will be required to work with our clients Canadian and US customer base supporting new and existing solutions. Candidates will be required to have an understanding of existing virtualization, SAN, routing, switching and server technologies and the aptitude to work with new technologies on a regular basis.

• Setup, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Linux and Windows systems
• Liaison with development team to test and deploy software in the Docker environment
• Assist with the setup, design and maintenance of AWS/Azure cloud integration
• Create secure Docker application images and interface with the development team
• Maintain Kubernetes cluster/infrastructure
• Respond to email and phone requests when required
• Respond to tickets within the help desk software
• Update network hardware and software
• Available for on call escalation
• Collaborate with the Manager of IT to design and implement solutions with organizational objectives, policies and procedures in mind
• Maintain network documentation and maintenance plan

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a DevOps/System Administrator role
• Ability to componentize your projects and break them into functional parts
• Ability to recommend the correct technologies to use for a project
• Strong analytical skills
• Highly motivated, self-starting and well-organized
• Ability to achieve project goals while working individually or as part of a team
• Ability to provide second/third level support to users
• Ability to communicate orally and written in a professional manner
• Adaptation to a dynamic fast paced IT environment

• Ubuntu Linux and other variants
• Docker administration and setup/hardening of containers
• AWS/Azure cloud
• Kubernetes experience
• Python experience is a plus
• Visual Studio
• PowerShell and/or VBA scripting is a plus
• VMWare ESXi and Hyper-V virtualization platforms
• MSSQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2014/2016 & PostgreSQL
• Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
• SNMP, network monitoring and network performance
• Mobile device experience (Windows Mobile/Android/Apple/Windows CE) is a plus

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required. VMWare, Linux, Docker or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
