Responsibilities
The key accountabilities for this role include:
Keeping our tooling and processes up to date with our evolving needs as we scale out both the user-base and the engineering team.
Working closely with our development and product teams to understand their bottlenecks, and to mentor them on operational ownership.
Helping to improve our internal tooling (instrumentation, dashboards, deployment automation), as well as the infrastructural availability of our production services.
Implementing and maintaining system configurations and baselines to support secure application development software control best practices and standards.
Providing high-availability operational support and automated solutions across the environment.
Supporting the development team and performing activities to resolve developer issues in a timely and accurate fashion.
Implementing deep telemetry capabilities to provide ongoing success and performance metrics.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills:
5+ years experience in platform engineering, cloud provisioning, and software development pipelines.
Must be eligible to work in Canada in a Full Time Capacity
You have a degree or an advanced diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or other engineering field.
Great ability to explain complex problems in simple language to non-technical people.
Strong communication skills, including technical writing.
Strong organizational skills and are self-motivated.
A self-starter, outgoing team player, able and willing to multitask and prioritize it accordingly.
Good at platform reliability engineering; ensure you support the platform and keep it running 24/7.
Have knowledge of integrating the application with multiple tools/stack and deployment best practices.
You have working experience with the following tools and technologies
Delivery experience with agile team and scrum methodologies.
Experience in DevOps, pipeline tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarCube) and gitOps processes.
Experience in building, deploying & troubleshooting Cloud platforms such as Azure & AWS.
Knowledge of Container Orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
In-depth Network knowledge in Router, Firewall, LB, IPSec, DNS etc and Operating Systems like Linux.
Experience with Ansible and Terraform.
Understanding of JVM, SpringBoot and Java runtimes.
Knowledge of Bash, Python, working with RESTful APIs.
Software defined routers such as Envoy or Nginx, Consul, and microservices and service mesh.
Experience in Event streaming technologies such as Kafka or Messaging Technologies such as JMS.
Experience in setup and configuration of products like Vault, Prisma Cloud.
Understand software design patterns, SRE models and chaos engineering tools.
