Senior Project Manager
We are actively searching for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in our Calgary Office. The Senior Project Manager is the front line liaison with the client, and is therefore responsible for promoting and projecting the Client image of efficiency, quality, and technical excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall scope, schedule, cost and quality on substation and/or transmission line projects from inception to completion. They will be familiar with contract terms and is responsible for managing projects according to contract requirements, ensuring that the administration of contracts and subcontracts is done efficiently and effectively.

- Build and maintain excellent relationships with the client/owner and other stakeholders;
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, making adjustments as necessary to comply with client needs within contractual obligations, or adjust project deliverables to meet client needs;
- Serve as project representative with client, subcontractors and vendors at kick-off meetings, job walks, project reviews, and other meetings and correspondence;
- Promote the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level;
- Manage and direct project teams by providing communication, coordination and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives ensuring project scope of work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood;
- Responsible for overall schedule and ensure work is completed on time;
- Establish project procedures consistent with contractual documents, execution plan and quality plan; determine and oversee all project controls, schedules and budgets;
- Monitor and measure the project key performance indicators (KPI); prepare and communicate monthly project reports to the Program Director;
- Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.

- B.Sc. degree in Electrical/Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology diploma with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience;
- 10 years of experience in the design and construction of substation or transmission line projects would be an asset;
- Exceptional leadership skills, interpersonal skills and work ethic;
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative;
- Positive attitude, proactive, high level of effort and commitment;
- Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal;
- Must be able to work under pressure, critical situations and deadlines;
- Relationship oriented with focus on both internal and external customer needs;
- Strong skills in reading, analyzing and interpreting technical (civil, mechanical and electrical) drawings, bill of materials, specification, contracts, and bid documents;
- Highly organized and achievement oriented with strong personal drive;
- Collaborative team player yet has the ability to independently perform technical tasks quickly and accurately;
- Advanced knowledge of applicable software including Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project (Primavera P6 software experience would be an asset);
- Registration with APEGA and/or a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be considered an asset
