What you’ll be doing?
As a Senior Software Engineer with our Richmond client, you will:
• Design and refine software architecture for our software products.
• Implement improvements, feature enhancements, and bug fixes as requested by stakeholders (customer service).
• Implement test plans and regression tests to verify software and firmware changes.
• Collaborate with customer service, manufacturing, and applications engineering to identify and diagnose software and firmware issues.
• Participate in all aspects of the SDLC for new and existing products.
• Deploy firmware and software upgrades.
• Report on issues and their resolutions to non-technical staff.
• Promote knowledge transfer through documentation and presentations.
• Mentor junior developers to promote their career development.
• Act as an experienced technical resource with the aim to improve the quality of our deliverables.
• Provide input and assist with improving team processes and infrastructure.

How do you qualify?
• BASc/BSc degree in engineering or computer science, or engineering technologist with equivalent experience.
• 7+ years’ experience in software development.
• 4+ years’ experience in embedded software development.
• 2-3 years’ experience in imbedded Linux.
• 2-3 years’ experience in C and scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience with source code control systems (Git and development processes), and tools (CI and JIRA).
• Practical working knowledge of software security and security development lifecycle an asset.
• Experience with the following an asset: HTML/CSS/JS, AWS or Azure, RTOSs, SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Outstanding troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to travel internationally on occasion (1-2 weeks per year).
