Responsibilities
Responsible for managing, underwriting and analyzing a portfolio of accounts comprised of varying sizes and varying levels of risk while providing exceptional and timely service. You will be responsible for approving bond applications within assigned file limits and making appropriate recommendations to superiors when limits are exceeded. From time to time, you will have to (re)negotiate the terms and conditions of existing cases. Visits to brokers and contractors will also be important responsibilities in managing a portfolio.
Maintain and improve surety business relationships with major brokers and contractors
Participate and contribute to a cohesive and functional group environment. Provide assistance to other members of the department as needed
Analyze, underwrite and make appropriate recommendations regarding new business
Understand and apply the company's best practices in terms of compliance, internal control and operational risk control in accordance with national standards and policies
Qualifications
7+ years of bonding experience
University degree, preferably in finance, accounting or commerce
Ability to manage different levels of complexity. Experience managing large accounts with aggregate case limits over $100 million a strong asset.
Bilingualism in English and French: Bilingualism is required since it is necessary to communicate orally and in writing with other Aviva teams across Canada and with our international customers and partners.
Able to work in a team and be autonomous
Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent negotiator.
