Shipping Coordinator

Randstad is currently recruiting for a Shipping Coordinator to join a fast paced, industry leading manufacturing company in Calgary’s South East. The successful candidate will be hired permanent as of day one with full benefits and paid vacation. Direct industry experience is a must and we are ultimately searching for an individual who has worked through the various levels of warehousing and distribution and is ready to make the next vertical step in their career.

Targets/Major Tasks

It is the responsibility of the Shipping Coordinator to coordinate in the scheduling of inbound and outbound transportation of finished products in a JIT environment. With a global focus on continuous improvement on customer delivery satisfaction and delivery cost.

Essential Duties:
•Customer Satisfaction is of the utmost importance in this role
•You will be coordinating the shipping/receiving schedule of inbound and outbound trucks with finished products
•You will act as the main point of contact in regards to communicating delivery information to customers as well to internal staff involved in the production/shipping practice.
•Coordinate ecommerce orders and DTC transactions through online portals
•Schedule and coordinate product transfers between facilities as requested
•Manually complete in the OHM system, all finished product transfers and maintain finished goods inventory accuracy
•Storing finished products in accordance with standard instructions

Deliverables:
•Actively participate in gathering information in our field rate program
•Reduce/Eliminate penalties associated with late delivery
•Reduce/Eliminate penalties associated with waiting times
•Optimize proper trailer cubing to reduce associated freight costs
•Maintain and improve inventory accuracy and eliminate the need for adjustments

General Tasks & Duties:
•Perform other duties as designed by a supervisor or manager
•Observance of rules and regulations such as working health and safety
•Informing, advising, and supporting of personnel
•Direct contact with drivers for shunting trailers
•Coordinate local pick-ups
•Schedule returns and conduct inventory follow up
•Supervise inventory levels of finished goods
•Track and maintain control of the scrap removal and recycle process
•Generate and update production report as well as back log report
•Order completion reporting and follow-up
•Actively participate in improving shipping process by discovering root causes of potential errors and recommending solutions to avoid them

Requirements:
•Fluent in English, both written and verbal
•Strong/ Effective communication skills
•Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
•Ability to work autonomously and with little direction in a high volume, fast paced environment
•Ability to present themselves in a professional manner
•Computer experience and knowledge of MS Office and shipping/inventory software is a must
•Sense of urgency is a must
•Demonstrated ability and willingness to work safely, take initiative, multi-task, and work both independently and as part of a team
•Experience working within dispatch, inventory management and warehousing within the manufacturing industry is a must
