Are you experienced in operating within an Amazon Web Services environment and possess a passion for enhancing performance and reliability of digital networks? Our established Downtown Vancouver client is seeking to hire a Site Reliability Engineer, on a six-month contract with a strong probability of extension. What does your day look like?
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will:
• Work closely with system owners to develop tooling and automation, perform load testing, and assess the health of our services.

What education and experience do you bring?
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related experience.
• 3-5 years’ administration experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud environments.
• 3+ years’ experience in a Testing Engineer role.
• 3-5 years’ experience in Load and Performance Testing.
• Software development experience in Java, Javascript, Scala or similar.
• Experience in Front-end scripting with HTML5, node.js.
• Experience in HTML, HTML5, CSS/CSS3, XML, and XSL/XSLT.
• Understanding of web technologies (HTTP, SSL, Headers, Cookies, TCP, caching).
• Experienced in scripting with JMeter, Artillery and Gatling, or similar languages.
• Experience analyzing test results and creating recommendation reports.
• Experience with agile sprint development cycles using JIRA/Confluence or similar platform.
• Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services.

What additional experience do you bring?
• Experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Blue Triangle, Thousand Eyes, Splunk.
• Experience using back end testing tools such as Flood.io or Blazemeter.
• Experience with Development or implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in Linux-based container management with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes, and with Jenkins.
