Responsibilities
What you’ll do
Develop and review software requirements, build design documents, write
programs, and package, test, configure, and deploy software efficiently.
Prioritize design, code, and maintain applications with a focus on high product
availability, optimal performance, and security.
Actively participates in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, and
the monthly continuous delivery activities including planning, developing, testing,
reviews, and demonstrations.
Perform impact assessment, resolutions and root cause analysis on the source
of identified bugs and design issues in the applications proficiently.
Perform debugging and unit testing of code before turning it over to Quality
Assurance.
Work with clients, product managers, analysts, architects, and engineers to plan,
design, develop, test, and implement information technology solutions and fixes
collaboratively.
Provide outstanding technical support to client services to determine resolutions
and improvements for client issues.
Review and build system, software, and functional design specifications.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
University Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
5+ years in a backend development role
Outstanding knowledge of Python, Core Java and Spring Boot
Strong experience with REST API and web services
Aviva: Public
Knowledgeable with RDBMS and Big data database systems such as SQL,
Postgres and Hadoop.
Ability to read code in other languages and reverse engineer products proficiently
Experience with Application Program Interfaces (APIs), Messaging Queues.
Familiar with the Agile software development methodologies
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Insurance knowledge an asset-Ability to foundationally understand complex
business process driving technical systems
Outstanding teammate
Experience with Cloud services is an asset.
