    Reporting to the Sr Director Engineering, you will manage and lead a multi disciplinary team with all aspects of engineering and design office including partnering with the Principal Engineer leading technical projects.

    You will be responsible for providing, and managing, the resources working on the design and installation of Production Irradiators as well as providing design support to Operations, Sealed Source and Transport Packages and for a Class 1B Nuclear Facility.

    This role has oversight of a multi-disciplinary team with all aspects of engineering and design office which includes: project management, design, development, qualification/validations, manufacturing verification and installation.

    Responsibilities
    In this role you will have an impact on…

    • Commercial support, working closely with commercial operations, procurement, customers, review of RFE’s, engineering quotes on new and retrofits for equipment.
    • Effectively provide and manage resources of a design office that provides support for Production Irradiators, Operations, Sealed Source and Transport Packages and Facilities.
    • Effectively managing all change control processes under quality and regulatory requirements
    • Effectively establishing and maintaining engineering and design-related policies, procedures and training requirements
    • Develop and maintain strong interactional relationships with both Sales, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Operations and Facilities, and Global Logistics as well as external customers and suppliers
    • Budget and resources management
    • Responsible for the timely execution of customer deliverables, meeting timelines and budget commitments
    • Lead a Continuous Improvement culture

    Qualifications
    You’re an ideal candidate for this role because you bring…
    • University degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
    • P. Eng certification
    • Project Management experience (asset)
    • Minimum eight years experience in an engineering role in an industrial environment
    • In addition, minimum three to five years in a management role
    • Experience managing in a unionized environment
    • ISO 9001 environment experience including design, development, qualification/validation, manufacturing process activities
    • Understanding of change control processes under quality and regulatory requirements
    • Familiarity with applicable drafting standards (e.g. CSA & ANSI)
    • Experience with Solid Works (asset)

    Additional Requirements
    • Travel requirements (expected to travel an average of 25 days per year)
    • Nuclear Energy Worker
    • FBI fingerprinting
