We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for an exciting high tech manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area. Our client has a strong preference for a candidate with prior experience in electric motor manufacturing. Experience with gearing or rotating equipment manufacturing would also be an asset.


- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, then researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
- Design and implement fixtures, jigs, and other tools required for the assembly process
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods and equipment for finished product
- Establish product and process capability requirements and standards to confirm that manufacturing processes are operating correctly
- Lead the creation and maintenance of manufacturing technical documentation, including PFMEA, process flow, control plans, and standardized work instructions
- Research ways to reduce cost and improve quality through testing of alternative processes and materials; implement improvements when identified, tested, and proven
- Create and edit BOM and routing entries in ERP
- Collaborate closely with the product design team to support DFM (design for manufacture) reviews on new programs
- Support and demonstrate leadership with all health, safety, and environmental legislation and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment


- 5+ years of experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Competency in solid modelling software such as Solidworks, Inventor, or similar
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- 2+ years of experience with PFMEA, AQP, and other quality management processes and tools
- Engineering degree or technical diploma with relevant manufacturing work experience
