Our client, a leader in the insurance industry, is looking for a Sr. Project Manager who has experience overseeing information security initiatives for n initial 1 year contract to start.


JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and orchestrate the end-to-end delivery of initiatives from initiation to operationalization, with focus on Information Security initiatives. The Project Manager is expected to manage simultaneously multiple projects, and may be under the direct supervision of a Program Manager. Project delivery is based upon agreed objectives and scope, within approved budget and schedule to enable the client to meet its objectives.

Projects mostly reside in the Information Security domain, therefore, the ideal candidate is technical, a problem solver, go-getter, and hands-on (as needed), in order to be successful.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for end-to-end initiating, planning, and delivery of project commitments and deliverables.


• Responsible for overall end-to-end project management, status reporting and stability of project-oriented work efforts and for establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies for the community to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, and that they adhere to high quality standards and meet customer needs.

• Apply thorough knowledge of plan development and execution, scope planning, schedule development, cost estimating, budgeting, and control, quality planning assurance, organizational planning, communications planning, risk identification and risk response control.

• Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.

• Lead project team to meet measurable goals, objectives, and deadlines

• Identify risks to projects, raise, and actively mitigate them.

• Take guidance from Senior Project Managers, Program Managers, Product Owners and Sponsors, QA and Compliance with respect to project processes, procedures, metrics, and reporting

• Manage multiple stakeholders – including team members, vendors, technical SMEs, sponsors, senior leadership, business, and functional groups in Canada and in other geographies

• Manage Change and Transformation projects – from inception, planning, technical execution and implementation, Target Operating Model design and operationalization

REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of experience

• The target candidate has strong PM delivery and technology foundation, stakeholder management, problem solving and soft skills (communications, influencing, negotiation), entrepreneurial, and outcome-driven.

• As a plus, the ideal candidate has experience working in networking and security – including exposure to patch and vulnerability management, firewall configuration, VLANs, Network and Malware protection a plus.

• Experience with Controls, Transformations, Organizational Change Management

• Ability to manage project finances – including sizing, cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and actuals tracking

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, negotiation, and collaboration skills

• Strong organization skills including demonstrated tenacity for following up with team on outstanding items

* Work well with team mates, in a local and globally distributed team setting.

• Knowledge of any Enterprise Portfolio Management applications (EPM)

• Advanced Microsoft Project skills and knowledge, proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports

• Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply various Aviva’s guidelines, policies and procedures

• Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced and evolving organization
