Structural Steel Plate Fitter - Afternoon Shift
We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Plate Fitter to join our team for the afternoon shift. The ideal candidate will have experience in fitting and fabricating structural steel components according to detailed shop drawings and be killed in the use of Oxy/Fuel torches for cutting steel. This role involves precise layout, fitting, and tack welding of steel plates, as well as cutting and fabricating various steel structures. 2 month contract with potential for long term.

Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM
Potential Overtime on Fridays
Pay Rate: $37.67/hr Starting Rate

Responsibilities
- Layout the location of holes, clips, stiffeners, and other detailed components onto main steel structural members in accordance with shop drawings.
- Fit and tack weld all parts and sub-assemblies into the member or frame.
- Cut copes, bevels, slots, and other shapes using an Oxy/Fuel torch.
- Mark weld symbols and other details on steel components.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Assist in moving material and parts involving heavy lifting
- Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
Qualifications
- Experience as a Structural Steel Plate Fitter.
- Previous steel plate fitting work experience
- Skilled in the use of Oxy/Fuel torches for cutting steel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to read a tape measure in both metric and imperial
- Organization Skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities
- Please note this work location is not transit accessible and your own transportation is a must
