Job Description: Lead project teams on various building related projects and liaise with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors. We are seeking a Structural Engineer with; up to 10 years of design experience on structural engineering projects in British Columbia, 5 years of Project Management experience, and possess a professional client network or have the capacity to develop a client network;

Responsibilities:
• Liaise with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors;
• Play an active role in business development activities and marketing by establishing and maintaining positive client relationships with internal and
external stakeholders;
• Provide strategic input into the preparation of proposals;
• Lead the engineering design and manage the project team, schedule and budget including supervising professional and technical staff;
• Oversee the work of engineering interns and technologists and provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff;
• Design and stamp medium to complex designs;
• Prepare specifications and drawings for building permit and tender;
• Manage client relationships throughout the project term, including providing technical advisory support;
• Oversee and provide construction review services;
• Prepare technical specifications and reports
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications & Skills:
• Completion of post-secondary university education in a related field (civil/structural engineering preferred) or a Master’s degree;
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia and in good standing with EGBC;
• Eligible for Structural Engineering Designation.
• Familiar with all applicable building codes and design standards;
• Familiar and proficient in the seismic design of structures.
• Must be proficient in the design of commercial buildings.
• Must be proficient in the design and reviews of steel and concrete structures with knowledge of wood frame design.
• Must be reside or be legally eligible to work in Canada.
