Are you a self-driven and motivated Structural Design Engineer with strong leadership skills looking for your next big challenge?

We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join the team of one of our reputable clients within the construction industry to provide value to the success of their clients. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for managing the Construction Engineering Services team, providing technical expertise on complex engineering assignments, designing and developing temporary works and coordinate activities on critical projects with a focus on building safety, on time schedule and meeting budget expectations.

• Leading and acting as a point of support for the CADD teams to develop preliminary and final project details and plan.
• Coordination of project teams and planning resources to achieve project deliverables.
• Designing temporary structures including but not limited to the design of bridges, trestles and other construction operations.
• Design temporary structures and conduct technical reviews through all stages from conception to the final design stages.
• Develop, implement and maintain project deliverables including; scopes, schedules, costs and budgets.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the technical requirements of high risk projects and ensure the development of solutions by implementing engineering principles.
• Provide expertise and strategizing solutions to complex technical problems.
• Ensure all work is in compliance with client standards and project quality management plans.

Skills & Expertise

• Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
• Strong team player with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Demonstrated history of leading high performance engineering teams.
• Highly skilled in designing temporary structures including concrete and steel bridges and/or construction engineering and performing staged construction analysis.
• Comprehensive knowledge theoretical structural engineering principles.
• Highly skilled in design software including; RISA, MathCAD, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, LUSAS, and SOFiSTiK considered an asset.
• Strong proven ability to analyze and design using structural theories, criteria and codes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian and North American design codes including but not limited to; Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code(CSA S6), AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Concrete Institute (ACI) and other provincial regulations and legislations.


• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in at least one Canadian province and eligible for registration as P.Eng in the United States.
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is considered an asset.
• 10+ years of experience in structural engineering design in temporary structures or a relevant area of expertise.
