Tax Manager

Attention all CPAs: Are you currently a Senior Tax Specialist or Tax Manager? Are you looking for the next step in your career? If so, this may be the opportunity for you!

My client is an established accounting firm in Brant County. They are looking to hire a Tax Manager who can be the in house expert for complex tax planning!

Responsibilities
• Devise and implement tax minimization and estate planning strategies
• Develop and implement strategies for clients to capitalize on business tax opportunities efficiently
• Identify and document tax filing positions including risk analysis
• Review personal, corporate and trust income tax returns along with other tax information forms
• Identifying tax issues and preparing memorandums, client letters, and reports
• Dealing with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals
• Assessment of the impact of new legislation and flag any changes to the firm and its clients
• Support, train, and mentor tax department staff

Qualifications
• Designated accountant (CPA- CA, CMA, CGA)
• In-Depth Tax course completed
• 3-5 years of progressive tax experience
• Knowledge and expertise in Canadian tax compliance and planning
• Knowledge and experience in income tax accounting
• Understanding of the Canada/US tax treaty
• Excellent project management and presentation skills
• Experience in dealing with Canadian tax authorities
