Our client, a leader in the education industry, is looking for a Technical Project Manager (Networks) that can develop and execute a robust plan to implement a campus network infrastructure replacement project.
Working alongside the IT Services network teams, architects, and product vendors, the Technical Project Manager (TPM) will deploy the next-generation network infrastructure to underpin their world-class research and educational services.

the TPM will -
-provide project leadership expertise for the Next-Generation Network;
-work with selected IT Services Architects, Engineers, and the selected Vendor to deploy a campus network to support the client, including researchers, faculty, staff, and students.
-The TPM is expected to bring expertise in implementing changes within a highly-available network/infrastructure environment. The TPM will also bring IT service delivery know-how for complex use cases such as large campuses, and municipal/provincial services.
- The role requires expertise in stakeholder engagement, organizational change management, technical knowledge, and operational experience to deliver a modern network service to our constituents.

Responsibilities
Deliverables and Objectives
1)The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
a.Provide project management expertise to build an integrated project plan to oversee and manage the design and deployment of next-generation network infrastructure for the university. The plan shall focus heavily on ITS and stakeholder organizational readiness and training.
b.Identify critical dependencies and requirements with adjacent projects, such as ITS Service Model and telephony replacement, and coordinate to ensure success
c.Provide advice on critical issues, risks, and challenges that may be encountered during and following the implementation of the new network architecture and how these can be mitigated.
d.Develop project artifacts/documentation listed below and ensure that these documents are accessible in line with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) Guide
-Project Communication Plan,
-Project Management Plan
-Integrated project schedule, documenting design, deployment, procurement, and all other tasks and milestones, with resourcing
-Risk Register
-Procurement Plan
-Stakeholder Register
-Final Closeout
-Lessons Learned Documentation
e.Working with the Director, Service Operations, direct and coordinating the completion of day-to-day tasks required to meet the project's objective according to the integrated project plan.
f.Schedule and facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, preparing and communicating meeting minutes, and tracking issues and action items as needed.
g.Working with partners and team members collaboratively to ensure timely identification and resolution of issues impacting scope, schedule and/or budget.
h.Report progress regularly to the Director, Service Operations, the Delivery Management Office, and the project working group.
i.Identify and communicate to the Director, Service Operations, and the Delivery Management Office on a timely basis any risks, issues, or impediments to progress and managing impediment mitigation plans.
2)Project includes but may not be limited to:
a.Next-Generation Network Architecture and Design.
b.Next-Generation Network Deployment.
c.User migration to the Next Generation Network.
d.Decommissioning of the legacy network infrastructure.
All work is to be performed under the direction of the Director, Service Operations, or their designate. The Project Manager is expected to follow the project delivery guidelines outlined by the Delivery Management Office of IT Services. Regular meetings will be required to ensure the expected outcomes are achieved.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications
To effectively address these deliverables, the following work experience and qualifications are required:
•7+ years of experience in leading large, complex IT projects with proven project delivery.
•PMP Certification will be considered a strong asset.
•Experience successfully implementing at least three large-scale network projects.
•Experience with network equipment and its terminology.
•Experience with producing high-quality, clear, and concise written documentation.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as prior experience delivering presentations to senior IT leadership.
•Organized, attention to detail, ability to work independently and with others.
•Self-motivated and decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
•Ability to adjust the Project Management controls and strategies to suit various levels of project complexity and business capabilities.
•Must have experience building large integrated project plans and managing projects using MS Project.
•Strong interpersonal skills, focusing on conflict management, and a willingness to consider varying points of view and approaches.
Summary
