Technical Systems Analyst

Responsibilities
Assess and analyze business and system needs, exploring alternative options or recommend technology
solutions and designs including component reusability, data sharing and security and providing
consulting services to senior management. Prepare high level and detailed technical specifications, and
work collaboratively to determine the best mix of development, interfacing applications and third party
vendor solutions to meet business requirements and objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
 Provide consulting services on new initiatives (small to large IT projects of varying complexity)
and develops proposals for senior management
 Lead detailed design phases for projects/ programs identifying, tracking and resolving technical
issues.
 Prepare high level and detailed technical specifications for projects in accordance with PLC,
security and architecture documentation objectives
 Identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies
 Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and
implementation phases of project
 Develop master distribution lists, implementation and contingency plans ensuring verification is
performed
 Facilitate meetings for technical design and task implementation
 Develop criteria for and participates in the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software as well
as due diligence exercises
 Provide input and coordinate with DBA in creating new and modifying existing database
structures using different types of databases and recommending appropriate DB based on
required functionality
 Develop codes, document, and executes unit test, system, integration and acceptance testing
using different languages and testing tools.
 Manage joint development, testing and plans and coordinates implementations
 Perform database/disaster recovery for entire system in different situations
 Perform performance tuning to improve performance over multiple functions
 Provide on-call support of applications, database, etc., particularly more complex situations

Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
 10+ years’ work experience on Information Technology projects supporting an enterprise-wide
environment
 10+ years proven work experience as a Technical Systems Analyst
 10+ years’ work experience presenting and facilitating discussions on technical requirements to
support business needs of project sponsors and stakeholders
 Windows .Net
 MS SQL
Skills & Competencies:
 Knowledge of different programming languages (e.g. Cobol, JCL, Java, C, HTML, VB, Visual C#)
 Experience with single platforms and familiarity with others e.g. MVS, Internet, Client/Server
 Skilled in leading detailed design phases and developing detailed technical requirements into
project plan phases for successful implementation
 User proficiency with different testing tools (E.g. Expediter, File-Aid), different design techniques
(e.g. OO. Top-down, structured analysis, component-based design) and tools (e.g. Rational Rose)
 Knowledge of documentation requirements.
 Prepares high level and detailed technical specifications.
