Responsibilities
• Interact with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Apprentices to develop (high volume) Production tools with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
• Ensure that the customer requirements -- which include project timing, part quality, and delivery -- are understood and met
• Consider alternative solutions for given tasks or problems
• Maintain job folder/electronic data and ensure proper job closure
• Be responsible for all parameters of assigned tasks
• Ensure the shop environment is kept safe, clean, and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
• Keep supervisor informed of any program issues
• Maintain accurate timesheets and ensure they are completed on time
• Observe all company safety rules, policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Tool & Die Maker License.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in automotive manufacturing preferably in stamping environment.
- Ability to set up presses and feeders would be an asset.
- Able to read blueprints and drawings.
- Able to use all machine tools and equipment proficiently
- Must have expertise in the repair of progressive dies.
- Able to work with minimal supervision when required and also as part of a team
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
- Able to work with others; build and maintain positive employee relations
