Scope of Position :
Increase company profitability by providing manufacturing with well-maintained dies and fixtures while ensuring quality and ability to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Authorities:
Prioritizing toolroom tasks.
Attend production meetings to ensure the toolroom is ready for the day’s schedule.
Support production schedule as determined from production meeting.
Maintaining the inventory of perishable tooling.
Coordinating work with outside vendors for spare parts.
Coordinating Continuous Improvement on tooling.
Review Tool Service Reports and schedule repairs as required.
Ensure that all personnel are working in a safe and efficient manner.
Support and encourage KAIZEN activities.
Solicit GEAR activities from staff to meet corporate goals.
Conduct employee performance reviews for department personnel minimum annually.
Submits training needs to HR as determined by departmental needs and employee evaluations.
Adopt and practise Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
Follow all general procedures where applicable as indicated in the company policies and manual book.
Perform other duties as required.
Work in compliance and conform to TS16949 and ISO14001 standards.
Will ensure that all individuals within their department work in compliance and conform to TS16949 and ISO14001.

Basic Requirements and Competencies:
Completion of a Tool & Die apprenticeship or equivalent experience in tool and die.
Five years experience as a Toolmaker or equivalent.
Two years experience as a Toolroom Supervisor/Foreman/Lead Hand.
Two years experience as a Toolroom Manager or equivalent.
Good knowledge of Government legislation in the areas of Health & Safety (OHSA, WHMIS, etc.), Labour Relations, Employment Standards, Human Rights, Pay Equity, WCB, etc.
Excellent problem-solving techniques.
Supervisory and management skills in a multicultural environment.
Excellent knowledge of the press department and equipment.
Computer skills in the areas of databases, spreadsheets, word processing, CAD.
Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
