Randstad Engineering is seeking a Tooling Specialist for a progressive and challenging opportunity with our Client, a specialized manufacturer of hydraulic systems for a variety of applications. The incumbent Candidate will be responsible for managing new and existing tooling design and creation to support operational effectiveness of the manufacturing and machining processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Setting up tooling builds as required to meet production requirements
• Selecting, verifying and presenting tooling to CNC machining centres in advance of setup
• Managing all necessary changes, repairs and improvements to existing tooling and fixtures
• Developing, implementing and maintaining tooling documentation and tracing system
• Participating in Continuous Improvement efforts with regards to tooling and fixturing
• Liaising with tooling vendors to investigate and propose new technologies and/or practices
• Establishing and managing tooling inventory
• Designing, sourcing and validating custom designed tools and fixtures
• Tracking and implementation of cost savings ideas for tooling


• Experience working in a CNC machining environment or quality support role
• Appropriate post-secondary education in Engineering or Technology
• Basic level modelling skills in SolidWorks or similar parametric modelling software
• Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T interpretation, and manufacturing processes
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
