Our client in the insurance industry is currently looking for an Underwriter Assistant (Data Entry) to work in their Dartmouth Nova Scotia Office. This role has the potential for extension.

This position is the middle-person (Commercial Lines Triage) between Brokers and Underwriters. The Triage team receives updates to commercial policies, determines the priority depending on the nature of the request and sends it to the appropriate Underwriting team to complete.

• Data entry onto the (RTM, RTG and Case Manager systems) for policy renewals, cancellations, endorsements and change of payment method.
• Underwriting Assistant receives Broker requests through a queue and needs to determine priority (for example, cancellations and change of payment methods are highest priority), then cuts and pastes the details to a queue sent to the appropriate Underwriting Team/location.
• Accuracy and speed is very important for this role.
• Provide maximum broker satisfaction whenever contact is made with brokers focused on commercial property and casualty accounts.
• Working as part of a team is essential as well as meeting deadlines.

• Work for a well-known insurance company
• Earn up to $19.70 per hour
• Dartmouth Nova Scotia
• 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension
• The shift will be 12 – 8PM with the possibility of working from home once trained

• Prior 12-24 months related experience
• Insurance knowledge is nice to have to better understand the policy update, but not required
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn internal systems quickly
• Ability to pay attention to detail and enter information accurately
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent decision making and analytical skills
• Organized and strong time management skills
