This international company specializes in everything railway related and has a vested interest in Ottawa’s LRT expansion and maintenance. This fast-growing team needs a Vehicle Technician to take on challenging technical tasks for the light rail system in Ottawa. If you have great attention to detail, like a fast-paced environment, and enjoy problem-solving mechanical issues this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Advantages
Two Month Contract (with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs)
Hours: Monday - Friday (days)
Salary: $28 - $33 an hour

Responsibilities
As a Vehicle Technician for this Railway company in Ottawa, a normal day would include:
- commissioning and performing functional testing of the electromechanical components of the light rail vehicles
- troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of vehicles
- read and interpret drawings and diagrams
- logging and documenting electromechanical and operational test results of vehicles
Qualifications
Who is the perfect match for this position?
- 3-5 years of experience working as an electromechanical technician, medium to heavy equipment technician, or in a similar role in the railway industry
- ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- experience in hydraulics and pneumatic systems (troubleshooting and repairing)
- mechanically inclined - able to use various hand and power tools (hand drills, grinders, crimpers, wire cutters, etc)
- adheres to health and safety guidelines and procedures
