- Reviews and manages warranty claims, including estimating non-warranty parts and labor and determining a reasonable cost for billing non-warranty work; captures fixed rates and processes warranty claims for covered and partially covered repairs.
- Communicates regularly with supplier representatives or service centers to determine what repairs are covered by warranty and the best approach to take.
- Shares branch issues regarding warranty repairs and new warranty information with appropriate company personnel.
- Maintains parts warranty records and ensures that supplier procedures for using used parts are consistently followed; routes warranty returns to appropriate suppliers.
- Accepts cash payments from customers and contacts account holders for purchase order numbers as required.
- Analyzes claims and submissions for accuracy, consistency of application and trends, and takes action/recommends as required.
- Manages warranty claim reports to ensure payment defaults are resolved and handled effectively.
- Ensures accurate record keeping and accounting of warranty programs by reviewing and monitoring claims and submissions to the branch; provides monthly statistical reports to the Service Manager.
Qualifications
-The applicant
-Fluently Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
- Work Experience: Two years of relevant work experience; previous experience in the heavy production parts industry or service sector is an asset
- Knowledge: Experience in parts supplier activities, procurement and parts quotation generation.
-Experience working with trucks or diesel components is a must
- Skills: Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree; College diploma or business certificate (an asset)
- 2-3 years' experience in a technical position in power generation or related field
- Technical knowledge of diesel mechanics and/or electricity; proficient with Microsoft Office
