The Bear Island Mill is the newest addition to the Cascades Containerboard Packaging lineup. This state-of-the-art facility will offer one of the lightest high end, 100% recycled linerboard and medium products on the market. The mill began production this week, and the successful candidate in this role will make a direct impact on successful production moving forward!
Role & ResponsibilitiesOperate the equipment and processes at the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), including the anaerobic reactor, aerobic reactors, DAFs, chemical feed systems, pumps, blowers, and biogas system
Collect and analyze samples from various locations within the wastewater plant to monitor system health and make adjustments
Evaluate sample data in order to make process changes to improve treatment efficiency and maintain compliance
Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) / (CID) responsible for completing daily rounds for his or her area of responsibility
QualificationsThe Waste Treatment Water Operator joining the team should possess the following skills and adhere to these specifications:
•Safety: Must show a commitment to an interdependent safety-first attitude
•Positive Attitude: Consistently display positive behavior that supports the organization's goals and objectives
•Education: At least 5 years of experience working in industrial setting, Prefer 5+ years of wastewater operations experience
•Skills: Strong Mechanical ability and aptitude. Any previous experience working in chemical industry is an asset
•Teamwork: Ability to work independently and in a team empowerment culture
•Communication: Ability to communicate well with others and able to participate in team meetings
Successful candidates must be able to work day/night rotating shifts, be available for overtime as necessary & possess a positive attitude
