Great opportunity in Surrey BC! We are currently looking for a Yard Inspector to work in a busy automotive yard. The ideal candidate will be responsible for communications throughout the facility and greeting and directing customers.

Work schedule: Shift Times are: Monday to Friday 6:15 AM - 5:00 PM


What you need to know:

- You will be responsible for directing customers as they arrive to the right location

- Equipment On-Site: Shredder, forklifts, skid steers, loaders, scrap handlers, mobile and stationary shears, car crusher, rock trucks, vacuum truck, nonferrous baler

- You will be responsible for the inspection of materials as they arrive. Once the scrap material is dumped at the pile it is the inspectors job to walk through the material and check for batteries, flammables and any other prohibited items

- Lifting Requirements: 35-55 lbs. Occasional lifting

- You are comfortable working in a physically demanding and outdoor environment

- Location is a 20-minute walk from Scott Road Station. A vehicle is preferred for this position as it is not transit friendly.

- Saturday and Sunday off

- Located in Surrey, BC

Qualifications
- You are comfortable working in an outdoor raw environment

- Need to be able to work in a physically demanding atmosphere

- You are capable and comfortable with utilizing hand tools

- Good attitude and can work well with no supervision

- You are able to work in a team environment or independently

- Any knowledge of working with vehicles considered an asset

- You can commit to the shift times: Monday to Friday 6:15 AM - 5:00 PM- Saturday-Sunday -OFF

- You are comfortable working overtime when needed

- A vehicle is considered an asset as this location is a 20-minute walk from the closest Sky train station
