Responsibilities
As a Bilingual Operations Officer, your duties will include but not limited to:
•Reviewing commercial security files
•Ordering security files/ binders from file room.
•Reviewing securities, comparing, and reconciling
•Providing a broad range of operational support
•Performing general to specialized transactions and/ or other processing activities for own Operations and Business Services function.
•Executing transactions accurately, on time and in line with established guidelines/ procedures
•Referring to escalating processing or operational issues as needed
•Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery
•Supporting partners with incoming transactions, validating information as needed to perform adjustments with authority levels
•Interacting with partners by responding to requests in an effective and timely manner
•Prioritizing and managing own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
•Understanding internal and industry regulations and trends
•Supporting the timely and accurate completion of business processes
•Reviewing actively internal processes/ activities and provide ideas for process improvement
•Adhering to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to operations activities for own area
•Being knowledgeable of and comply with Bank Code of Conduct
Qualifications
•FULLY BILINGUAL – English and French: Read, write, speak (reading complex documents)
•Knowledge of security trading
•Critical thinking skills – mitigate risk for the bank
•STRONG attention to details
•Strong communication skills – customer focus, taking ownership
•Excel – staying organized, navigating complex trackers - 1year
•Flexible in work hours – Could work OT or weekends as needed, stay later during peak work
•Meeting deadlines- SLAs
•Sound knowledge of MS Office, proficiency in MS Excel is a must
•Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle high volumes of work.
•Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
•Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
•Self-motivated and goal oriented.
•Ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures.
•Understanding of MM and FX products
•Ability to learn and apply skills to new software programs.
Nice to have:
•STRONG asset to have – commercial loans experience
•Banking experience – small business banking loans officer, credit officer, operations officer
•Knowledge of Global and WWS platforms would be an asset
•Preferred - experience in a Trade Processing related role, preferably experience with cash products (such as loan, deposits, swaps and forwards)
