Responsibilities
• Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and event logs to identify potential problems
• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as software updates, security patching, and backups on network devices
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software-related issues on routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment
• Implement and test network failover, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
• Collaborate with server, security, and application teams to ensure end-to-end system health
• Document network configurations, change management processes, and operational procedures
• Maintain accurate network inventory records and asset management information
• Analyze network metrics and trends to identify optimization opportunities and make recommendations
• Provide on-call support and after-hours incident response as needed
• Participate in the design and implementation of new network architectures and technologies
• Assist in the development of network-related policies, standards, and best practices
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in network administration, operations, or IT support roles • In-depth knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and technologies (e.g. LAN, WAN, switching, routing)
• Proficient in administering and troubleshooting common enterprise network services and security solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues
• Experience with network monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g. Cisco, Wireshark, Python)
• Understanding of server, storage, and IT security best practices as they relate to network infrastructure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document procedures and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Certification in network-related technologies (e.g. Cisco, CompTIA) is preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 IT operations environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with pipeline hydraulics and pipeline system operations
• Experience with Control Center operations, SCADA, Computational Pipeline Monitoring, Operator Training Simulators
• Evidence of strong software engineering skills
• Familiarity with data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence
