As the Associate Director, you will support the Enterprise Stress Testing Analytics team in managing high-stakes credit loss estimation. This is a "Business As Unusual" (BAU) role where you will be deeply embedded in the bank’s most critical reporting cycles, including CCAR, MST, and EWST. You will navigate the complex data lineage from model implementation to final reporting, ensuring that the bank’s Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) and Provisions for Credit Losses (PCL) are calculated with surgical precision. Responsibilities
Execute Loss Analytics: Implement reporting procedures for ACL and PCL under various stress testing programs (CCAR, MST, EWST).
Process Ownership: Maintain and enhance reporting workflows to reduce operational risk and improve efficiency.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with model implementation teams to ensure data integrity and understand the lineage required for downstream reporting.
Strategic Reporting: Manage the production of stress testing results and craft narratives for senior management decks.
Governance & Compliance: Lead remediation efforts for any control issues identified by auditors and ensure all processes meet internal and external standards.
Regulatory Defense: Act as the primary point of contact for substantive inquiries from regulators regarding the team’s analytical output.
Qualifications
Education: University degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Physics).
Experience: 3+ years of analytical experience within a financial institution; prior experience in stress testing or a risk SME role is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in Python, SAS, SQL, and Spark.
Version Control: Professional experience working with Git.
Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of credit risk, market risk, or structural interest rate risk. Familiarity with accounting standards related to credit provisioning is a plus.
Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate complex quantitative concepts to non-technical stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.
