We are looking for a highly skilled Custom Furniture Maker to join our premier Calgary workshop. If you are a craftsman who finds beauty in a perfect joint, thrives on technical challenges, and lives for high-end finishes, this is where you belong. Based in Calgary, we run a premier, high-end fabrication shop specializing in bespoke furniture and architectural millwork. We don’t do assembly lines, mass production, or generic box-building. We are expanding our team and looking for an experienced craftsman who values flawless joinery, understands the behavior of fine materials, and treats woodworking as a true craft.
Advantages
Competitive Pay: $26.00 – $30.00+ per hour (Starting rate is highly competitive and scaled directly to your experience and portfolio).
Consistent Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Keep your evenings completely free. Optional Saturday OT is available for those looking for extra hours.

The Location: A bright, organized, fully equipped facility situated in a highly transit-accessible part of Calgary.
Responsibilities
Blueprint Translation: Read and analyze architectural blueprints, technical drawings, and design specs to plan out logical, sturdy build paths.
Precision Milling & Assembly: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble solid wood, high-end veneers, laminates, and specialty materials using standard shop machinery and hand tools.
Luxury Finishing: Handle meticulous surface preparation including seamless sanding, touch-ups, and detailing to ensure every piece meets showroom standards.
Hardware Integration: Fit premium architectural hardware, hidden hinges, drawer slides, and custom trim work with absolute accuracy.
Shop Synergy: Collaborate closely with our design team and fellow makers to solve structural puzzles, maintain a safe environment, and perform routine machinery care.
Qualifications
Custom Craftsmanship Background: Documented experience in custom cabinetmaking and fine furniture fabrication (mass-production or assembly-line experience does not apply).
Bench Autonomy: Proven ability to take a custom build from raw material to final assembly completely independently.
Print Literacy: Strong competency in reading and working directly from technical sketches, design blueprints, and material specifications.
Equipment Fluency: High-level skill and safety awareness when operating table saws, routers, planers, shapers, and fine hand tools.
An Eye for Perfection: Exceptional attention to detail, keeping a sharp focus on tight joints, hidden seams, and exact tolerances.
Safety Gear: Must own CSA-approved steel-toe boots (annual replacement allowance is provided after hiring).
