Responsibilities
Press & Machinery Operation: Set, adjust, and operate various presses to bend, cut, roll, stamp, or punch metal to fabricate required parts according to work instructions.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Assist with minor equipment troubleshooting; notify the Team Lead immediately if machinery is malfunctioning or requires repair.
Material Handling & Physical Tasks: Assist with moving raw materials and parts, involving heavy lifting as required.
Safety & Quality Standards: Ensure all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are properly used; adhere strictly to safety procedures and operational guidelines.
Order Tracking & Prioritization: Record transaction details on work orders accurately and prioritize orders based on production schedules.
Continuous Improvement & Team Support: Provide on-the-job training for new or less-experienced operators, participate in Lean initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement program (CIP) projects.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a production environment operating multiple press machines.
Education: Grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent preferred; technical training in machining or press operation is ideal.
Technical & Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with sound technical knowledge of press operations.
Mathematical Ability: Skilled in taking precise measurements and applying basic math on the floor.
Physical & Communication Skills: Able to perform heavy lifting and work effectively in a team-based environment.
Assets:
Basic welding experience is considered a strong asset.
Forklift certification (or eligibility to get certified) is an asset.
