This is a backend-heavy, hands-on engineering role where you will:

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and deploy scalable backend services from scratch
Deliver production-ready code at high velocity
Contribute to microservices architecture and system design
Build and integrate RESTful APIs
Work closely with product and engineering leaders to shape solutions
Support production systems (debugging, logging, monitoring)
Drive engineering best practices, CI/CD, and code quality
Collaborate across time zones in a follow-the-sun model
Identify inefficiencies and bring forward innovative solutions
Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
Backend Engineering Excellence
Strong Java expertise (versions 17, 19; moving toward 25)
Deep understanding of multi-threading and concurrent programming
Proven ability to build systems from scratch
Strong experience in backend system design and architecture
Full Stack Capability
Solid JavaScript skills
Experience with React (supporting role; backend focus)
Architecture & Systems Thinking
Experience designing microservices architectures
Strong understanding of RESTful API design
Experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, querying)
Cloud & DevOps
Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization tools
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
Production Mindset
Strong experience with production support, logging, and debugging
Comfortable working in a global, follow-the-sun support model
Experience in banking or financial services
NICE TO HAVE:
Exposure to database migrations (e.g., MongoDB → PostgreSQL)
Experience working in globally distributed engineering teams
Familiarity with newer Java versions (21+)
