We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Specialist – SAP Basis to play a key role in transforming an SAP ecosystem. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive a major SAP modernization journey, including S/4HANA transformation, cloud migration to Azure, and expansion of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

Work Environment
Hybrid model: 3 days in office per week
Mandatory in-office days: Tuesday & Thursday (Third day flexible)
Office locations available in Toronto, Winnipeg
On-Call & Operational Support
Participation in on-call rotation approximately once every 5 weeks.
Pager pay provided, with minimum 3 hours paid if called in.
Occasional weekend maintenance windows, compensated.

Responsibilities
SAP Operations & Technical Delivery
Lead SAP Basis administration across multiple SAP landscapes.
Install, configure, and maintain SAP HANA and S/4HANA environments.
Perform system upgrades, support stack updates, system copies, and performance tuning.
Manage transport processes, ensuring changes are properly controlled before production deployment.
Monitor system health and performance using tools such as SAP EarlyWatch.
Administer and optimize databases supporting SAP systems.
Cloud Modernization & Engineering
Support the transition from on-premise environments to Azure.
Drive automation and CI/CD adoption using Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps principles.
Collaborate with architecture teams to modernize legacy services and integrate with SAP BTP.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
Security & Identity Integration
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory standards.
Integrate SAP IAS/IPS with Azure Active Directory for SSO and MFA.
Support internal audits and manage remediation plans.
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with architecture teams, IT leadership, and vendors to deliver modernization initiatives.
Mentor team members and promote an engineering mindset focused on continuous improvement.
Contribute to automation, AI, and innovation initiatives within SAP.
Qualifications
Experience
6–8 years of SAP Basis administration experience
Experience supporting enterprise SAP landscapes
Experience with cloud environments (Azure preferred)
Technical Expertise
SAP technologies such as ECC 6.0, NetWeaver 7.5, S/4HANA, Solution Manager
Databases: Oracle 19c and/or SAP HANA
Operating systems: Linux (RHEL preferred)
Understanding of identity management and security in cloud environments
Experience with SAP transports, system patching, upgrades, and performance tuning
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
SAP Analytics Cloud
SAP PI/PO, SAP Data Services, SAP XSA
SAP ChaRM or SAP CALM
DevOps practices or Infrastructure-as-Code
Agile or Scrum certification
