Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Leadership: Manage and empower cross-functional technical teams to deliver complex initiatives on time, within scope, and seamlessly aligned across global business units.
Core Banking Delivery: Lead technical project delivery specifically related to core banking platforms, legacy modernization, and international software integrations.
Payment Systems Oversight: Oversee the complete lifecycle for high-throughput payment systems, ensuring smooth, secure transaction execution and reliable deployment across borders.
Regulatory & AML Coordination: Coordinate closely with regional risk management and compliance teams to proactively incorporate Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and financial regulatory requirements into master project plans.
Stakeholder Management: Serve as the central communication hub between executive leadership in Toronto and Portuguese-speaking business units.
Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Project Management Expertise: A proven, referenceable track record in technology project management or scrum mastery within a banking or financial services environment.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Professional fluency in both English and Portuguese (written and verbal), with direct experience collaborating with and managing technical teams based in Portugal.
- Financial Domain Knowledge: Strong technical domain knowledge in payments systems, core banking infrastructure, or AML compliance software.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) designation is highly desirable.
- Proficient with modern project management toolsets (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Asana).
- Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
