Responsibilities
- Architecture Governance: Lead the design and planning of enterprise IT systems; develop and deliver the Solution Architecture Document (SAD), Business Architecture Document (BAD), and Information Architecture Document (IAD).
- Strategic Alignment: Develop business capability models and maintain enterprise blueprints that align with long-term corporate strategies and the technology roadmap.
- Project Leadership: Manage reusable IT services across multiple large-scale projects and establish frameworks based on architectural best practices.
- Security & Risk: Support Threat Risk Assessments (TRA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA); collaborate on risk mitigation strategies and support penetration (PEN) testing.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Review Requests for Bids (RFBs), present architectures at the Architecture Review Board (ARB), and consult with senior leadership to ensure business needs are met.
- Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies for business fit and provide strategic guidance on cloud-native (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) transitions.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of experience as an Architect in large, complex environments.
- Cloud Expertise: Deep knowledge of Azure Public Cloud and hosted services, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Architectural Disciplines: Proven mixture of Business and Application architecture experience, including functional modeling and value chain analysis.
- Frameworks: Extensive knowledge of the Zachman Framework and structured design methodologies.
- Security Literacy: Hands-on experience with TRA, PIA, and multi-platform security review processes.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation and consensus-building skills; ability to present complex designs to non-technical executive audiences.
- Education: Previous experience within the Ontario Public Service (OPS) or Public Sector is considered a strong asset.
