corporate social responsibility and ethics

At Randstad Canada, we take pride in matching ideal employees with quality employers, but our commitment to society does not stop there. We shape the future world of work by sharing our knowledge and experiences with everyone involved in the employment sector. We believe the value of work is a unifying force that will shape society for the better.

Randstad has a far-reaching partnership with CUSO (formally known as VSO), a non-governmental organization. This partnership is keeping up with Randstad’s long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility jobs and employers and our desire to apply knowledge and skills to help alleviate poverty on a global level. CUSO matches volunteers’ skills with community needs in the developing world. By borrowing from Randstad’s core competencies and having access to our network, CUSO can further stimulate positive social change.

Commitment to the partnership is group-wide, and many countries have hosted events and initiated activities that have helped raise awareness of CUSO. Currently, more than 50 initiatives are under way throughout Randstad to support this partnership.

the randstad canada charitable foundation

The Randstad Canada Charitable Foundation was established in 2008 to support organizations whose focus is the empowerment of individuals to reach their potential, and to provide emergency funding to those in critical situations.

Through the foundation, Randstad employees across the country are given the opportunity, both through financial generosity and volunteer commitment, to enhance and support various charitable organizations. Our employees become personally involved by assisting charities that, for example, focus on giving people the coaching they need to ace an interview, or those that make sure a child has a good breakfast, so they can go to school ready to learn. The aim of The Randstad Canada Charitable Foundation is to ensure that Randstad employees are able to see that their efforts are really making an impact, that it’s not just the donations we make, but the time and effort we spend, that can make a real difference.

we sincerely thank each of our partners for their generous donations:

Randstad Canada Foundation Supports:

randstad and the breakfast club of canada

Randstad has partnered with the Breakfast Club of Canada, because we believe we can make a positive change in the lives of tomorrow's leaders. Randstad provides financial support, along with employees who volunteer every week to serve breakfasts in schools associated with the project. Volunteers from Randstad even operate one of the clubs at 100%. We also help Breakfast Clubs of Canada recruit volunteers and organize special events.

randstad and jennifer ashleigh children’s charity

JACC helps chronically and seriously ill children and their families when funding agencies and other financial supports don’t address their immediate or pressing needs. This deserving organization is unique in the children’s charity arena in that it is not illness or disease specific – that is, it is not affiliated with any one illness-centered charity, but assists all children from birth to 21 years of age, and their families, based solely on need.

randstad and sky’s the limit

Sky’s The Limit (STL) is dedicated to addressing the widening digital divide in Canada by providing students with access to the tools and resources they need to pursue the infinite opportunities and possibilities available to them online. With the support of funds generated through last year’s auction, STL branched out into a First Nations community in Ontario, contributing computers to this severely underserviced group. Randstad Canada is proud to support this important organization and looks forward to helping build it into a national presence.

ride for myriam

In 2014, one of Randstad Canada's employees, Myriam Laaouan, passed away after a long battle with Leukemia. Myriam has been an inspiration to our team and to show our support to her young family, Randstad Canada holds an annual cycling tour from Toronto to Montreal. Cancer affects us all in one way or another, and the Ride for Myriam event allow us to collect funds that we allocate to research on cancer in order to help those suffering from this disease, while honoring the memory of one of your own.
