This is not a traditional front-office role; it is a high-visibility position that acts as the primary liaison between customers, production, engineering, quality, and the tool room. You will be responsible for translating customer demand into actionable production plans, ensuring that the facility maintains optimal efficiency and meets rigorous shipping deadlines. Responsibilities
• Act as the primary point of contact for all customer accounts including phone and email communication
• Enter orders intro the EDI system, and ensure all data entry is accurate
• Lead daily production and supervisor coordination meetings.
• Manage and process EDI transactions, customer purchase orders (POs), and releases.
• Schedule press production based on customer demand, material availability, and plant capacity.
• Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments (Engineering, Quality, Tool Room).
• Monitor and report on customer satisfaction, plant efficiency and production times
• Adjust schedules in real-time by pulling back or increasing orders based on system inputs.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service within a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to production scheduling is a strong asset
• Previous experience in the automotive industry is highly preferred (understanding of terminology and IATF 16949/ISO 14001 standards).
• Proven track record in account management, project management, or program management.
• Ability to work a 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule and perform overtime during peak mid-week periods.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Willingness to be "on-call" during peak periods or customer demand spikes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and ERP/Order Management systems (Plex or SAP preferred).
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
• Decisive leadership and the ability to direct activities across departments without formal reporting lines.
• Excellent communication skills for managing customer relationships and internal conflict resolution.
• Independent and "upbeat" personality
