Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead Joint Requirements Planning (JRP) and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions to elicit, elaborate, and validate business requirements.
- Strategic Planning: Conduct feasibility analysis, project scoping, and provide detailed work estimates; develop high-quality business cases for corporate governance approvals.
- Process & Data Modeling: Analyze and map current vs. future state processes and data; create conceptual and logical data models and system use cases.
- Documentation: Deliver comprehensive Functional/Non-functional requirements, System Requirements Specifications (SRS), User Stories, and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM).
- Agile Delivery: Manage product backlogs, plan sprints, and document user stories using tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Technical Support: Review technical design documents, participate in architectural checkpoint reviews (Zachman framework), and support the development and testing teams.
- Quality Assurance: Define integration and user acceptance test plans, review test cases, and manage defect logs in HP ALM.
- Compliance: Ensure all solutions meet the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Digital Service Standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of professional Business Analysis experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with Mainframe and Mid-tier environments, including online/batch transactions and financial reconciliation.
- Methodologies: Expert knowledge of SDLC, including Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Iterative methodologies.
- Modeling Tools: Mastery of UML, Business Object-Oriented Modeling, and repository tools like PowerDesigner.
- Estimations & Strategy: Strong ability to provide high-level and detailed estimates for complex system changes.
- Public Sector Expertise: Knowledge of public sector architecture governance points and project management frameworks.
- Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Azure DevOps/Jira, and HP ALM.
