Responsibilities
As the Treater, you are the technical heartbeat of the facility, ensuring both quality and safety standards are met:
-Manage pressure treating systems and fixation kilns to meet precise customer specifications.
-Operate and maintain a 500 hp high-pressure boiler in strict compliance with the Nova Scotia Pressure Vessels Act.
-Perform regular analysis of treating solutions and maintain detailed plant checklists.
-Clean and maintain treating systems (greasing, changing filters, cleaning tanks/sump pits) to ensure peak performance.
-Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health & Safety manuals; manage chemical unloads and maintain a clean workspace.
-Identify bottlenecks and make recommendations to improve site productivity.
Qualifications
-Valid 4th Class Stationary Engineer license is required (3rd Class is considered an asset).
-Current certifications in Confined Space Attendant, Fall Arrest, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) are an asset
-Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to interpret technical data.
-Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and time management skills.
-Ability to train junior employees and communicate effectively across departments.
