We are seeking a high-energy Technical Account Manager to lead growth and solution-design within the Thompson Okanagan and Kootenay regions. This is a premier opportunity for a proactive, "hunter-style" sales professional who thrives on the technical intricacies of industrial manufacturing and enjoys being on the front lines of client operations.
...
In this role, you aren’t just selling equipment—you are an essential partner to industrial plants. You will spend your time inside manufacturing facilities, collaborating with maintenance supervisors and plant engineers to diagnose inefficiencies and design technically advanced systems that ensure operational uptime. Representing a globally recognized leader in mechanical innovation, you will be the primary point of contact for the interior of BC, driving both new business acquisition and the expansion of existing high-value accounts.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who enjoys a heavy travel schedule (60–80%) and has a knack for translating complex mechanical requirements into profitable business cases. Whether you are conducting a site walk-down or presenting a strategic maintenance program, your goal is to provide reliable, efficient, and top-tier technical solutions to Western Canada’s industrial sector.
Advantages
Total Compensation: Competitive base salary paired with an uncapped commission structure and performance-based incentives.
Fully Equipped: Company-provided vehicle, fuel/maintenance card, mobile phone, and tablet.
Comprehensive Benefits: Extended health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage.
Retirement & Wellness: Company-matching pension plan and an annual flex/wellness allowance.
Professional Development: Ongoing technical training, including opportunities for travel to world-class manufacturing facilities in the United States.
Responsibilities
Business Development: Proactively identify and secure new industrial and manufacturing clients through consistent prospecting and pipeline management.
Technical Consultation: Conduct site system reviews and "walk-downs" to assess air demand and recommend optimized mechanical configurations.
Territory Management: Develop and execute sales strategies for the Thompson Okanagan and Kootenay regions to meet equipment and service revenue targets.
Proposal Engineering: Create detailed technical quotes and business cases that address specific client production goals and constraints.
Service Programs: Sell long-term maintenance and "CARE" programs to ensure client reliability and generate recurring service revenue.
Field Presence: Maintain a consistent travel schedule (4–5 days per week) to visit clients across the interior, including occasional overnight stays.
Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to engineers and operations leaders, ensuring long-term partnership success.
Qualifications
Experience: Proven success in technical sales, specifically within industrial equipment or engineered mechanical systems.
Industrial Knowledge: Strong familiarity with manufacturing environments and plant processes.
Sales Aptitude: A "hunter" mindset with a track record of building a pipeline from scratch and closing complex deals.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret mechanical applications and system requirements; knowledge of compressed air systems is highly advantageous.
Education: A degree or diploma in Engineering, a technical discipline, or Business is preferred (equivalent professional experience will be considered).
Technical Tools: Proficient in CRM platforms and the Microsoft Office suite.
Logistics: Valid driver’s license with a clean record and a Canadian passport for occasional international training travel.
