We are currently recruiting for a contract position for a AP Clerk in the Burlington area. This position is a 6 month contract with the potential to be extended further. This position supports the AccountingDepartment to ensure vendor invoices are entered correctly and resolve any discrepancies between POs, invoices and payments.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, experience in accounts payable (preferable in JDE), and intermediate to advance skills with MS Excel and Word. This roles requires someone who is detail oriented, organized, and open to help where needed.

- Hours 8:00am - 5:00pm
- $24 - $25 an hour depending on experience
- In office during training period and then 50% hybrid, alternating weeks wfm

Responsibilities
- Entry of vendor invoices
- Reconciliation of supplier statements to supplier ledger
- Resolve purchase order, invoice or payment discrepancies
- Ensure credit is received for outstanding debit memos
- Regularly liaise with vendors and branch staff to resolve problematic situations
- Process EDI invoices and run corresponding integrity reports
- Review payments for processing via EFT and cheque, ensuring vendors receive necessary paperwork to support payments
- Review aging reports for open inventory receipts
- Maintain alphabetized account files, physical and digital filing required
- Code and deposit cheques daily, light cash applications duties if needed during busy periods or vacation coverage.
- Create and maintain a team atmosphere and ensure employee concerns are resolved promptly.
- Additional administrative duties as necessary
Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in an accounting role
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 package, Excel intermediate level (ability to sort, filter, and input data)
- Experience with ERP systems, JDE is an asset
- Strong data entry skills, with a focus on accuracy
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
