Responsibilities
Financial Execution & Reporting:
•Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly journal entries and financial statements.
•Ensure all reporting packages are accurate, complete, and compliant with corporate policies.
•Assist in the consolidated reporting process, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows.
Detailed Analysis & Forecasting:
•Provide proactive analysis to explain financial results and variances to senior management.
•Support the forecasting process by providing reliable data and insights on actual results versus plan.
•Contribute to ad-hoc requests regarding strategic planning and financial actuals.
Audit & Regulatory Support:
•Act as a key liaison for internal and external auditors, preparing necessary documentation for interim and year-end audits.
•Support the research and implementation of new reporting requirements and accounting changes.
Process Improvement:
•Drive continuous improvement by streamlining existing processes and updating standard operating documentation.
•Support the stabilization and ongoing enhancements of the IFRS 17 reporting environment
Qualifications
Must-Have:
•Designation: Completion or active pursuit of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA: CA, CGA, CMA) or an MBA with relevant experience.
•Industry Experience: Minimum of 3 years in progressive finance roles, ideally within the Financial Services sector.
•Technical Skills: Exceptional Excel skills are vital (Advanced formulas, modeling, and data manipulation).
•Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex financial results to business partners.
•Work Style: A seasoned professional capable of working independently with strong attention to detail and a "client-centric" focus.
Nice-to-Have:
•Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Insurance products and specific Insurance Accounting (IFRS 17/IFRS 4).
