Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a primary resource for the core finance function, expected to be proactive, solution-oriented, and contribute to automation efforts:
- Financial Operations Oversight: Oversee AP & AR functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Cash Management: Lead daily bank monitoring and cash reporting. Prepare weekly payment schedules and process bill, wire, EFT payments, as well as intercompany and FX transfers.
- Month-End Execution: Perform month-end reconciliations, recurring entries, accruals, tax preparation, and account analysis.
- Analysis & Planning: Conduct basic financial analysis to support decision-making and contribute directly to the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Process Improvement: Actively collaborate on process and procedure improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging technology and tools.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2-4 years of accounting and/or financial experience if currently pursuing your CPA designation; 5-7 years if not pursuing a designation. Related post-secondary credentials required.
- Mindset: Must be proactive and solution-oriented, capable of demonstrating initiative and bringing ideas to the table. Must be comfortable with the 100% in-office requirement.
- Technical Skills: Tech-savvy with a knack for learning new ERP systems, Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), and comfortable with multi-systems/platforms.
- Soft Skills: Strong interest in process optimization and continuous improvement; excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to collaborate across teams effectively.
- Comfortable with criminal and credit background checks being processed.
