Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including accurate coding and entry of invoices and ensuring all payments have received adequate internal approvals.
- Prepare weekly EFT payments and cheque runs, manage online bill payments, and oversee company credit card processing.
- Maintain vendor files, perform statement reconciliations, and handle all inquiries regarding payment status and account standing.
- Verify quantities and pricing against contracts or leases, managing variances for special pricing programs and rebates.
- Perform complex sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations and support period-end requirements through the preparation of accruals and statistical reports.
Qualifications
- Direct experience in Accounts Payable; within a multi-company environment is preferred
- An Accounting Diploma is required to ensure a strong foundation in financial principles.
- High level of competency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is considered a significant asset.
- Strong investigative skills with a "problem-solver" mindset to identify and resolve root causes of financial discrepancies.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage both internal department requests and external vendor relations.
