Responsibilities
Collections and Customer Relations: Proactively manage customer accounts, focusing on resolving delinquent payments and improving our Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) results.
Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, process credit memos, and handle adjustments to ensure accurate account balances.
Portfolio Management: Oversee the entire A/R portfolio, including setting up new accounts, monitoring credit terms, and managing payment plans. You'll also handle cash-on-delivery (COD) accounts and release held orders as appropriate.
Payment Processing: Accurately process and reconcile all incoming payments, including checks, wires, EFTs, and credit cards. You'll also prepare bank deposits and ensure the precision of all cash applications.
Reporting and Administration: Generate a variety of A/R reports for the Finance Manager and Director of Finance. You'll also be responsible for running and mailing monthly statements.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external customers, including the sales team and senior management, to resolve issues and accelerate the collections process. You'll also support the Sales Analyst & Customer Loyalty function as needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience in accounts receivable and collections, with a basic understanding of accounting principles.
Knowledge of billing and collections procedures.
A strong commitment to customer service.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and SAP.
Exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a results-oriented mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
A team-oriented attitude and the ability to work collaboratively.
