Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable transactions
- Monitor customer accounts and aging reports proactively
- Conduct regular collection follow-ups via phone and email
- Investigate the underlying causes of overdue balances and collaborate with customers
- Process incoming customer payments accurately within the enterprise accounting software system
- Assist with setting up new customer accounts
- Reconcile customer accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies, short payments, deductions, pricing issues, and credit adjustments
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze customer payment trends
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education or certification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is strongly preferred
- 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in an Accounts Receivable, accounting clerk, or general finance role
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with ERP software (such as J.D. Edwards, SAP, or similar platforms) is considered an asset
- Knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems or SPS Commerce platforms is an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, particularly intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities with a proven track record of prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with ERP software (such as J.D. Edwards, SAP, or similar platforms) is considered an asset
