Randstad Canada is recruiting an Assembly & Logistics Manager on behalf of a premier global manufacturer of heavy equipment and industrial machinery expanding its footprint in Whitby, ON.
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in launching this brand-new 70,000 sq. ft. hub. You will oversee end-to-end inbound container logistics, heavy machinery assembly, and inventory management while building and leading your own warehouse and technical assembly team from the ground up.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily inbound ocean container receiving, heavy equipment unloading, and outbound dealer dispatch (~5 freight trucks daily).
Manage final assembly operations for heavy machinery, ensuring technical teams accurately interpret mechanical blueprints across 2,000+ individual parts and attachments.
Maintain strict inventory precision using enterprise WMS systems, conducting regular cycle counts and serialized equipment tracking.
Recruit, schedule, train, and mentor a growing team of warehouse associates, forklift operators, and assembly technicians.
Optimize spatial planning, overhead crane utilization, and forklift safety in accordance with OHSA standards.
Implement Continuous Improvement practices (5S / Kaizen) to streamline assembly throughput and minimize downtime.
Serve as the key operational liaison between local warehouse activities and international head office/engineering teams.
Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in logistics, heavy assembly, or manufacturing operations, with at least 4-5 years in a supervisory or management role.
Industry Focus: Prior experience handling heavy machinery, automotive assembly, agricultural equipment, or industrial capital goods.
Language Requirement: Professional fluency in both English and Korean is required to communicate effectively with international engineering units, global supply chain stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to read mechanical blueprints, understand heavy assembly workflows, and oversee overhead crane and heavy forklift operations (5,000 lbs – 8,000+ lbs capacities).
Leadership & Startup Mindset: Strong track record in team building, setting up new operational lines, and developing safety and inventory processes.
Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
