This skilled labour role is far more than just a standard shop job; it requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and a dedication to craftsmanship. Your primary focus will be operating advanced Line-X systems to apply durable spray-on coatings in all colors for truck bed liners and various other custom surfaces. Aligned with industry standards for coating and spraying machine operators, you will set up, operate, and maintain specialized plural-component spray equipment. Your day-to-day will involve critical surface preparation, including meticulous masking, taping, and sanding, to ensure flawless adhesion and a perfect finish.

Responsibilities
• Prepare trucks and other surfaces for coating by thoroughly washing, sanding, masking, and taping designated areas.
• Set up, operate, and maintain Line-X plural-component spray systems to apply protective coatings.
• Apply spray-on bed liners in various colors according to precise customer specifications and shop standards.
• Monitor equipment operation, adjusting pressure, temperature, and fluid flow to ensure optimal coating application.
• Clean, disassemble, and maintain spray guns, hoses, and surrounding work areas to prevent blockages and ensure safety.
• Inspect finished surfaces for runs, drips, or uneven coverage, performing touch-ups as necessary to ensure high quality.
• Follow all shop safety protocols, including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical materials and solvents.
Qualifications
• Proficiency with hand tools, power sanders, and masking techniques used in automotive surface preparation.
• Eagerness to learn and master specific Line-X plural-component spray systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and precision to ensure clean lines and even coating application.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn, operate, and troubleshoot industrial spray equipment.
• Strong time management skills to effectively balance multiple custom projects in a fast-paced skilled trades environment.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and operate heavy machinery safely.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physically demanding shop tasks.
