Our client is actively seeking a skilled and self-driven Automation Controls Specialist to join our afternoon shift maintenance and engineering team.
This is a hands-on, high-impact position in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment where you will troubleshoot, repair, and continuously improve some of the most advanced control systems in the industry. You’ll handle up to 40 service calls per shift, supporting both reactive maintenance and strategic improvements..

Responsibilities
>Continuous improvement of hardware and robot program applications across CNC, PLC, PC, motion control, and automation vision systems.
>Develop and manage new control system applications and integration projects.
>Troubleshoot and resolve issues in real time – be a technical lead for root cause analysis.
>Conduct on-the-spot electrical and controls troubleshooting, and assist with wiring as needed.
>Work across multiple PLC platforms – Allen Bradley, Siemens Step 5–7, Mitsubishi, and balancing machine systems.
>Maintain documentation for all PLC and controls changes to meet H&S and operational standards.
Qualifications
>8+ years in industrial automation, controls, or related field preferred – open to strong junior candidates with a self-starting mindset.
>Valid 309A and/or 442A Electrical License.
>Deep familiarity with automotive, aerospace, or heavy machinery environments.
>Experience with metal stamping, heat treatment, or specialized forming technologies is a major asset.
>Ability to handle pressure, prioritize rapidly, and maintain a sense of urgency in a JIT Tier 1 manufacturing setting.
>Thick skin and team spirit – someone who thrives under structured leadership and a high-accountability culture.
