Responsibilities
Participate in building data capabilities within Finance, ensuring data strategies and principles are applied consistently and data risks are considered throughout the data lifecycle.
Proactively work with internal Finance stakeholders and other business units on business as usual and project initiatives.
Manage the Data Issue Log, including follow-up, resolution, and escalation to the Data Governance Office.
Contribute to the Finance Data Forums, which includes preparing meeting materials and facilitating discussions.
Maintain the Data Team's policies, user guides, and other relevant documentation.
Assist in the accurate and timely execution of Chart of Account (COA) requests and actively participate in COA activities.
Understand and maintain Finance hierarchies and corresponding reference data management.
Support the development and refinement of efficiency metrics, dashboards, and financial/non-financial KPIs.
Represent Finance when participating in Data Impact Assessments (DIA) or Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
Contribute to the development and implementation of procedures/processes and embed governance controls in Finance change activities.
Collaborate with governance and IT teams to build automated data quality and retention processes.
Engage with internal Finance teams, internal risk, and/or external auditors on testing, evidence, and iCARE updates.
Prepare and maintain Finance reports as applicable.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a designated or pursuing CPA/CA certification.
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in a data environment, financial analysis, and/or reporting, preferably within Finance or the P&C Insurance sector.
Knowledge and experience in data management and data stewardship.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience in data profiling considered an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office (Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Qlik Sense, Business Objects, and familiarity with relevant finance software (e.g., Oracle).
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to foster and build good working relationships.
Bilingual capabilities (English/French) are considered an asset.
