In this role, you’ll be at the heart of Canada Operations, supporting the end-to-end Business Continuity Management (BCM) lifecycle. From hands-on development and testing to ongoing maintenance of critical BCM artifacts, you’ll help ensure our operations are resilient, prepared, and compliant—no matter what challenges arise.
You’ll operate with a high degree of independence, partnering closely with business leaders to translate BCM standards and recovery concepts into practical, executable plans that make sense to non-technical audiences.
Location: Waterloo, ON
Contract Duration: 8 months (high potential for extension and conversion to FTE)

Responsibilities
• Facilitate day‑to‑day BCM activities for assigned Operations processes in support of Business Continuity Plan and Process Owners.
• Develop, review, and update BIAs to accurately reflect process criticality, impacts, dependencies, and recovery requirements.
• Develop, review, and maintain BCPs aligned to BIAs, including documented contingency and recovery strategies, roles, and communications.
• Lead BCM testing activities for assigned processes, including Simulations, Tabletop, Alternate Site, and Notification exercises.
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate testing execution, including participant readiness, exercise logistics, and completion of required testing objectives.
• Analyze testing results and ensure BCPs are updated to reflect lessons learned, identified gaps, and validated recovery assumptions.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and current BCM artifacts and testing evidence in the GRC system of record, ensuring records remain audit‑ready and retrievable.
• Execute required approval actions for BIAs, BCPs, and testing evidence.
• Provide practical guidance and coaching to Plan and Process Owners on BCM requirements, timelines, and expectations, including adoption of enhanced company BCM Standard requirements.
• Monitor trigger events and coordinate required BIA/BCP updates within prescribed timelines.
• Act as a subject matter resource for BCM processes, tools, and standards.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
§ Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience, and or industry certification in operational risk or resilience.
§ 3–5 years of related experience with strong knowledge of business processes, dependencies, and operational risk concepts.
§ Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex operational and recovery information.
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation of workshops and exercises, and the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
§ Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authority and work effectively across multiple teams.
§ Proven ability to work independently, manage a portfolio of BCM activities, and prioritize competing deadlines.
§ Ability to lead structured activities and exercises, including time‑bound and participant‑dependent testing scenarios.
§ Strong documentation discipline, with attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining BCM artifacts and evidence.
§ Ability to translate standards and requirements into practical, executable steps for business partners.
§ Comfort working with ambiguity and exercising judgement within established policies and governance frameworks
Must have - good knowledge of BCP standards
Soft Skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with various levels within the organization.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and be self-driven.
